Hey artists - I'm going to cut it short another time. I hope everyone of you had a really nice Christmas and New Years.
Maybe you're already going at new things as the year have barely begun? I know I am. I got a million plans and for now try to take them one at a time as the day passes. It's quite wonderful. I hope you're feeling spirited to get something out of this year as well.

In order for you to get a little boost of inspiration to get going, I was noted in an email that Bobby Chiu (famous artist you got to check out), known for being the best of guys and a really talented artist, who shares his thoughts a lot more than the rest of us do. He have put something amazing together and now decided to make it free for a limited time, I can only recommend anyone to listen to it. You won't be the same after and will come out with a lot better feeling in your stomach - promise!

Here's a short description he's put together of it himself:

"When I was a student in art school, I had an idea of making a book. It would be about how to become a successful artist, as seen from the viewpoint of somebody who wasn't successful yet.

Over the next ten years, I wrote down all the thoughts and methods that worked for my career, so that one day, if I ever DID become successful, I would have a "step by step" of how I did it. During this time, I've been very fortunate to do a lot of the things that I've always wanted to do, and live the way that I wanted to live.

In addition to doing art, I've also been lucky enough to meet some of my favorite artists, each very successful in what they do, and interview them at length. In learning their stories, I felt that it was time to put this book together."

You can find it here: schoolism.com/interview.php?id… - enjoy, and have a good and effort filled year!

I bought the Darksiders 2 Collectors edition, but was left with a frown as I opened the package - read the below to understand.

Being the happy owner of the softcover Artbook for the first Darksiders game, loving Joe Mad(Madureira)'s style and work as the art director - I had to get my hands on the sequel's Artbook. I'm closing in on ending the first game, and I've really been loving it. So of course the notes of the developers saying that the Darksiders 2-game was going to be even more awesome spoke to me and still does. I ordered the collectors edition, which would contain the game, some DLC-codes, the soundtrack, Death's mask and finally the artbook.
- Happy recieving the package on the release date, unpacking it and all, I was left with a frown and disappointed face - because the so called artbook, which I had been wanting the most along with the game, was nothing more than a small notebook, nowhere near as cool as the one of the first game... And I surely can't be the only one with the same sadness inside of me about this. It said THE art book on their advertisement, nowhere was the size said and noted to be this small, so what do they expect?
- By time things turned around and I ended up looking through the small art book, and on the very last page I found my salvation. Like the first game had a huge art book after release, so would they release a similar big one for this game. Why on earth they featured a small art book I don't know, but I'm still angry at them for fooling me like this. The art book I wanted is coming out this fall, by the start of November according to the retailers. I'm buying it and so more of my money goes that way.

I'll end the first game and then sometime continue on the sequel. The interest in the game is still there, but I'm letting it lurk around. Yeah I know it, I'm crazy.

But I'm actually having another game on my hands - guessed it already? It's another sequel, of course Guild Wars 2. I signed up early and pre-purchased, so I've been able to participate in the Beta weekends they've been running. Enough about that. ArenaNet had a really great pre-launch and launch, but sadly there's been some issues too. I was a victim for one of them. Being able to play for a few days and suddenly being cut off, is never fun. They introduced the smart security trick known as authentication. It just didn't do the trick for me and my hotmail... bummed sitting waiting for a reply for 7 days. But by the start of yesterday my ticket was looked upon and a solution for similar people like me, was found. Yays!

Enough ranting. I'm playing Guild Wars 2 and doing it with a bunch of really nice people. It's fun, except for that fact that I am not sure about my necromancer profession - but pulling it through for now. It's a vast new world to explore, and I still have many corners as only being level 24 to explore.

I just felt like updating my journal. Though what it really just should say is that I'm missing girlfriend real bad. See you soon love.

Hope all of you are good, maybe you're playing Guild Wars 2? Poke me if you are, I'd like to hear what you're up to in-game.

Felt like throwing another update on the situation currently.
I know it's been a while, but it haven't seemed like a journal post was missing. I'm having my mind on other things, but here goes!

Getting into the art again, developing my skills and using the time I've been provided with now.
A week's time ago I decided to go from working full- to part-time, something I've done in half a year now. So with certain days on my schedule I can now plan other things than: getting up early, working myself worn out till my morning and afternoon have fun out and getting home to just repeat it with a break in the weekend. There's going to be less money coming in that way, I know. But I'll manage and can now put more time a side to personal projects for friends. I'm looking forward to it and have already blown the bubble.

As some of you may have noticed my gallery is getting uploads again. I can't get feedback and acknowledge for keeping all my creativity to myself and close ones.
It will especially feature inking challenges inspired by my lovely girlfriend Glowcrow. More art minded around a new, super exciting and inspiring game. Along with plenty more studies of other things. I've also found an interest in reading books and looking through my art books again. I've taken up the Darksiders(1) game, because by tomorrow the 2nd is released, and of course I ordered the collectors edition. I want this art book added to the first game's, which I already have. The soundtrack by Jesper Kyd, and style of Joe Mad. An awesome collab. It is going to rock!

All in all I feel really good. How are you guys doing?

With a mind on improving and really taking things up rather than leaving them, I hope to see more of you dropping by. Should you have any curious questions, an interest to challenge me, paste a tutorial my way or something else - poke me. I promise to poke you back with a similar gesture.
Anyone feel like poking me?

A Doodlekite Insight

Yet another update!

As a birthday gift I was given a lot. Useful gifts in form of clothing, cash,  upgrades to my tools of trade along with lots of love from my family, friends and my loved One.
Along with that I was also gifted with nothing more than Premium-membership here on DeviantART by a mysterious Anonymous. Fancy! I can't help but to wonder, but I'm going to stick with saying to whoever gave me yet another upgrade and possibility to more features and options here, a big thanks.

I'm still toying with it and as a first thing I tried it out skinning my journal. Quite a nice pair of skins out there. Yet should you have any tips or advises on how to best use premium-membership, then let me in on all your advantages fellow artists.

Cheers to everyone who made my day even greater and still continue to do so. Loads of love right back at you guys. Stay creative!
